Naked Palette 3 Looks: Daytime to Dramatic

I figured because I gave such a rave review on Urban Decay's Naked Palette 3 that I should put it to the test and show you all a taste of the huge range that the palette offers. I created a softer daytime look and also created a more smokey, dramatic night time look.
(Side note: I did not edit or enhance these photos. The colors you see are true to what the picture is showing you)

Daytime Look:

1.  Limit: in the crease to help transition our colors
2.  Dust: on the inner corners of my lid and around my tear duct area
3.  Buzz: on the whole lid area just up to the crease
4.  Factory: smudged into the very outer parts of the top and lower lash line to give some dimension
5.  Nooner: on the outer crease to give a little more dimension and also smudged all along the lower lash line

Dramatic Look:

1. Nooner:  all along the crease from outer brow to inner brow (it seems a little scary to put it that close to your nose, but trust me, it adds more shape and interest to the eye)
2.  Blackheart: packed on the whole lid and brought up a little at the outer corner
3.  Strange: dusted lightly along the brow bone
4.  Liar: smudged all along the lower lash line into the corner as well
(I also added black liner to my water line and lash line to pull the look together)

Hope you all enjoyed!

Urban Decay Naked3 Eyeshadow Palette

Trust me, I get excited about makeup more than your average girly-girl, but I haven't been this stoked about an eyeshadow palette in a long time! Urban Decay has really out done themselves on this one.  This palette includes 12 brand new colors that are exclusive just to this palette.  The theme of this palette is rose gold hues and have a variety of matte, satin, and shimmery colors. Countless number of looks can be created with the wide variety of colors it offers whether you want a matte everyday look, a sparkly holiday look or a dramatic look for a night out on the town. Which makes this a great item for travel, also because of the large mirror it has. All the colors are highly pigmented, the only one that doesn't pack a huge punch is Trick (swatch 6) but I think that just adds even more versatility to the palette if you want more of a subtle sheen on your lids.  Naked3 comes with a dual ended crease & shadow brush and a sample of all of their eyeshadow primers (original, eden, sin, and anti-aging) that I swear by. The pictures that I took really don't do the color justice.  I also did not swatch these colors over a primer to show just how pigmented they are. This palette will set you back $52 but in my opinion it is TOTALLY worth it and a great value.  Urban Decay sells their individual eyeshadows for $18 and there are 12 exclusive colors in this baby, so you do the math! I have the Naked1 and the Naked2 but this one by far is my favorite! I bought mine on Urban Decay's website but Ulta and Sephora are now selling it online and it will be available in Ulta stores on December 12.  Ulta and Sephora online are both offering free shipping at the moment. I think this is a great gift idea for any girlfriend, mother, or other lady in your life. Let us know if you have or plan on getting this palette and what your thoughts are on it!

Nerium AD- Product Review

Double take! Both of us have reviews so please take note to each review!

DONIELLE'S REVIEW:

Thanks to Bethany Thimesch, director of Nerium International, we were provided with a month supply of their Nerium AD treatment to test out and review. I personally, did not know much of this product, but had definitely heard of and was seeing rave reviews. Four pumps a night for a month I used this product (although it seemed to last me longer) I didn't realize how much it had changed my skin until I began writing this post and seeing my before and after pictures next to each other.  I really liked how "plump" my skin felt after application.  I have always had and still have acne prone skin, so besides that, my biggest skin issue has been hyper pigmentation and redness. I don't, per say, have wrinkles yet. For the most part you can let the photos speak for themselves, but I have to say for the short time period of me using this product, I can definitely see a huge difference in the redness of my skin! The only hesitation I have with this product for me would have to be the price. That being said, I think dedication and longevity of use with this product could definitely transform and be worth the value of this product. Especially when I see myself using less makeup to cover up my imperfections! I know there are MANY ways of saving money on this product so I encourage you to visit: www.bethimesch.nerium.com to learn more about pricing and what all Nerium has to offer.  I've never been one to splurge on makeup or skincare, I love finding great deals and hidden bargain beauty products but using this product has definitely made me think more about taking care of my skin investing in a product that appears to have really worked for me!

CHARISSE'S REVIEW:

Donielle and I were given the opportunity to test out Nerium AD night cream and give our thoughts! Overall, I'm pretty impressed with Nerium! A little science behind Nerium from their website:

"During advanced research on the uses of the Nerium oleander plant, an accidental discovery was made: the unique properties of Nerium oleander provided remarkable age-defying results when applied to the skin. This finding led to the formation of Nerium International and the creation of the NeriumAD skincare line. Nerium scientists developed a breakthrough process, NBio-PL2, to derive an extract from the Nerium oleander plant in a way that preserves its unique and beneficial properties. This patented extraction process yields the NAE-8 extract, with powerful antioxidant properties, used to formulate the first-of-its-kind, age-defying Nerium product line. Nerium International is the first company with the exclusive capability to harness the power of the Nerium oleander plant in its skincare products. The product line addresses multiple concerns at once, including: wrinkles, discoloration, and texture. Nerium controls this main active ingredient from seed to bottle, making the Nerium skincare line both high-impact and innovative. This is the Nerium Difference."

I discontinued use of all the other creams and wrinkle products that I was using besides a regular moisturizer. I have seen a difference in the texture and appearance of my fine lines and size of my pores. I didn't start off with a ton of wrinkles but I have definitely started to notice forehead wrinkles and some lines around my mouth. I also have some enlarged pores around my nose and cheek areas. In the morning after I rinse off the cream, I can visibly see how my skin is more firm.  After using this product for around a month, I can't imagine the difference it could make after a longer period of time. Nerium claims if you give their product a year to try they it could take off 10 years!  They have a 30 day money back guarantee so you don't have anything to lose!

My Maternity Style - Non-Maternity Maternity Clothes

Throughout my pregnancy I have tried my best to find pieces in my closet that could work with my growing belly without investing alot of money into actual maternity clothes. The items that worked the best for me that were still super duper comfortable were:
1. Maxi skirts or dresses - Super stretchy and can pair so many different options up top
2. Dresses with a waist drawstring - Obviously you want to find one that is long enough to cover your growing belly, but having that drawstring can allow you to cinch your waist in if you so desire.
3. Shorts with elastic waistbands
4. Longer baggy tank tops
5. Long/stretchy spaghetti straps or tanks
6. Baggy button ups

The picture above shows some examples of how I styled some of my favorite non-maternity maternity clothes!

Makeup Look: 40% off items

Bargain Beauty- $1 E.L.F. Cosmetics

Earlier this week, I Instagramed a picture of my local ALCO that is now carrying E.L.F. products from their essentials collection (Eyes, Lips, Face). I have so many favorite cosmetic products from this brand it's cray....the prices are even more cray...That being said, i'm so stoked that I have access to their "Essentials" line, meaning everything is $1. They do sell these products in Target and other drugstores but usually I would just have to purchase online. Featured below are 4 items that I feel like everyone needs in their makeup collection.

TOP LEFT:
Eyelash Curler- Believe it or not this handy little tool makes so much difference in the way your lashes look after your mascara application.

TOP RIGHT:
Clarifying Powder- I would highly recommend this product in the darker shades as a bronzer/contour color. Specifically the colors: Spice & Honey.

BOTTOM LEFT:
Eyeshadow Primer- If you have oily eyelids or have issues with your eyeshadow creasing or melting off during the day, you have to give this product a shot.  Not only will this allow for your eyeshadow to stay on all day but it greatly improves the pigmentation on your eyeshadows as well!

BOTTOM RIGHT:
Eyeshadow Brush: Not too big, not too stiff, this brush is necessary for eyeshadow application, and for $1 you can easily buy a backup to throw in your purse for late night touch ups!

All of these products I have tried higher-end versions of and they definitely pull their weight in effectiveness and quality for the $1 value. I really hope that you decide to "splurge" on these items if you have access to them! If not, www.eyeslipsface.com has a bazillion other product lines ranging from $1-$3 including awesome blushes, more brushes, eyeshadows, lipsticks, etc. that are really stellar.

Let us know if you try any of these products or if you maybe have your own favorites!

Graphic Design- Royal Invitations

Hello All! Today I present you with the most elaborate, sparkly, glamorous, most frickin' amazing invitations I've ever had the opportunity to design. If these photos don't speak for themselves then let me just explain...foil printing on a cream cardstock, glitter envelope liners, tiffany blue envelopes with star confetti sprinkled on the inside, sealed with a crown wax seal, wrapped in an outer envelope with hand written addresses.  These were done for a high school senior ladies breakfast and the theme was "Let Their Reign Begin" and I literally was handed the reigns to make these the most fun, exciting, ROYAL pieces of memorabilia to set the tone for this event.  I had so much fun coming up with this concept as well as getting my hands glittery in assembling these beauts. Even my husband was sweet enough to get in on helping me with the construction:) I couldn't wait to hear what my client and recipients thought of these invitations so I included some social media reactions below from the girls to my client's daughter, these just literally made my heart smile.

Charisse and I can be commissioned to do all things creative.  Graphic Design is something we have the education for but we have the passion to design, create, construct all things crafty and pretty.  I was honored to be a part of this project and I hope you all enjoy it as well!

Designer Dupe: Isabel Marant Wedge Sneakers

Hi All! So...I just purchased these shoes yesterday and i'm already really obsessed with them.  I must admit, it has taken me quite a while to jump on the wedge sneaker bandwagon. My first impression of them were that they super ugly and marshmallow like. Charisse has slowly convinced me that I just needed to take this trendy plunge, so I did and i'm SO excited to wear these puppies in the Fall.  They are incredibly edgy and cool! I love the multiple straps for lots of texture and the loose tongue that can be pulled out to create a really relaxed look. My friend Mel had told me that there were a lot of shoes on sale at Target so I had to check out what they had. I saw these, tried them on and I couldn't put them down, part of me wanted to just keep them on and walk out with them on! Ok, not really...BUT they are so very very comfortable, they give you a nice lift like a heel but it's concealed in a tennis shoe! They are extremely nice quality and they are pretty well known in the fashion world as a very accurate and considerably cheaper dupe for the Isabel Marant wedge sneakers that are a fan of the celebrities (as seen in photos above) Even chic mommies like Bey and Mrs. Orlando Bloom rock them effortlessly. I love the idea of pairing these with colored skinnies, boyfriend jeans, or leather leggings for a comfy, casual outfit. I really think everyone needs these, or a version of, in your closet! If I can't convince you, check out one of my favorite beauty bloggers HRH Collection's blog post about them. (CLICK HERE) As far a I know, the Isabel Marant sneakers are still so popular that they are only available for pre-order, they are a hot item let me tell you.

Target's Xhilaration Wedge Sneakers:

Barney's New York Isabel Marant:

So here I am with my new favorite kicks! (I had to put on my sunglasses to compete with my celebrity pictures;) Oh and my randomly, new favorite Starbucks insulated water cup.

Hope you enjoyed this Designer Dupe entry and we would LOVE to hear or see photos if you decide to join this trend! As always, Twitter or Instagram pictures with #pairdesign

Twin DIY!

Do you ever struggle with finding the perfect color of accessory that you have been searching for that perfect outfit? Well, problem solved! I had been searching high and low for a neon yellowish green necklace and could not find the right color anywhere. So I decided, I'm going to bring it to myself and make my own. I knew what shape and style I was looking for so I found this necklace on sale at H&M for $10 and found the perfect color of spray paint at a craft store. I just laid out the necklace on a cardboard box in my garage, gave it a couple quick coats of spray paint, and VOILA! I now have my perfect necklace that I have been searching for!  You could do this with any accessory, ring, bracelet, or even earrings! If you choose to use this method to get that perfect colored accessory make sure to tweet or facebook it with #twindiy so we can see your creation!

Strength Bracelet

...My New Favorite Accessory...

The purpose of Charisse and I's blog is very simple; sharing things with you that we love and admire. Beauty, Fashion, Graphic Design are all aesthetic life joys.  Although aesthetic, they are fun and beautiful and enjoyable.  I get so excited when I find something artistic that reflects an actual personal life meaning. I'm a very analytical person and so it's rare that something comes along that really speaks to me. We all have our own life struggles, and I'm learning that now more than ever. No one's life is perfect, no one gets all that they desire in life, struggles are present everywhere.  I'm so incredibly thankful that I have very special, amazing friends and family and GOD in my life to get me through my own obstacles.  Recently my BF has moved away but before she left she gifted me a bracelet that means more to me than she actually knows. While writing this blog and researching links on where to purchase this special bracelet I found out that the designer, Ashley Bridget is offering a 50% discount as well as a donation from your purchase to go towards Sick Kids Neuroblastoma Research, specifically in honor of a fellow beauty guru and YouTube sensation Talia Castellano who recently lost her battle to cancer. If you feel like you're having a bad day or even year, you need to check this girl's YouTube channel out, this is how you need to live everyday:

Not only do I love the look of this bracelet and how you are effortlessly "stacking" your arm candy because they are all attached to one clasp, but the meaning behind the bracelet is just amazing. Kristen and I both have these bracelets to remind each other of it's meaning. I have a feeling that I will be wearing this piece A LOT! This will go with literally everything and i'm just so OBSESSED with it!!! Below is the meaning of the bracelet and I cry every time I read it...

.................................................................

"With life's obstacles repeatedly testing you, wear your strength on your sleeve. The strength bracelet signifies your ability to uphold your morals, face life's woes, and find courage when times seem hard. Rock it, and show the world your strength with the symbol on your wrist and head held high."

.................................................................

Please click the link above if you are interested in purchasing this bracelet and it's supporting a really great cause. This was a pretty deep post;) Hope you enjoy and if you decide to purchase we would love a comment below!

Thanks friend....I love it!

Love~ Donielle

Products I've Used Up!

Buxom Lip Gloss in Yoo-Hoo - I was kind of in the middle with this lipgloss. Doni and I love our nude lippies, and this one was just so-so for me.  The color was ok but not quite as opaque as I like. The staying power was awesome I would have to say. It has a nice smooth texture and isn't sticky at all which is a quality I do look for in a gloss. But for $19 a pop it's just not quite worth it for me. It's not that I would't recommend this gloss to anyone but for the price, I've seen better, so this lovely gets a 2.5.

Batiste Dry Shampoo - I think you all know by now that Doni and I both are beyond obsessed with the Batiste Dry Shampoo...clearly I have two empties there. The original formula is still my fave but the Wild formula/scent is a nice change up every once in a while. This is very affordable at around $7-$8 at ULTA or any drugstore, but keep an eye out at Marshalls or TJMaxx and you can get it for around $5, I like to stock up there when I can. I will give this product a 5 all day err' day!

Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara - The mascara was super hyped up for me in the beauty community and in my book and the type of lash I go for its a total fail. Again, I like thick almost spider-y lashes and this formula not only didn't give me that but also started to flake after the second layer. I know some of you are thinking..."Charisse, it says CLUMP CRUSHER" but I had to try it anyway because so many people seemed to like it. I suppose if you are going for a more natural look, this may be your mascara but for me, I rate it a 1 and would not repurchase or recommend to anyone.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deeeep Conditioner - Again, I have mentioned this conditioner many times and by the looks of the two empties I have, I heart it BIG time. I will always have a bottle in my shower and a backup of this 5 in my beauty cabinet.

Cetaphil Face Cleanser - Whew, this baby took me a couple years to use! It feels good to finally have it used up but I think part of the reason it took me so long to use it up was because it was only so so for me. Cetaphil is a great brand for sensitive skin, and I'll give it that, no irritating my skin here. But it just didn't do much for my skin, I didn't even feel like it took my makeup off very good and I think a facial cleanser should do that at the least. I give this product a 2 and would only recommend to sensitive skin faces and maybe for people who don't have much acne or wear a lot of makeup to cleanse off at the end of the day.

SJP NYC Perfume - You will probably rarely see perfumes in my empties.  I just have SO many perfumes and like to change up my scent a lot.  This is a very summery, fruity smell and I usually used it in the Spring and Summer. I liked it but didn't love it so I give it a 2.

Aussie Leave In Conditioner Spray - Because I love the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner so much I have been trying to use more Aussie to get more of a feel on the whole brand. I have very dry, fine, thin hair that tends to get tangled after a shower very easily and have to use a detangler or leave in conditioner of some sort on my hair to get a brush through it. It definitely helped me comb through the rats and has the same light fruity smell that Aussie products have. Overall, I enjoyed this spray and felt it did the job that it claimed and would rate it a 4!

Palmers Cocoa Butter for Stretch Marks - This product was given to me by a friend but I have always heard good things about the Palmers brand. With my growing baby belly, I try to lather up with a lotion/stretch mark preventative once a day. I do have previous stretch marks on other parts of my body from puberty but so far, no stretch marks on my belly 6.5 months in! I am a very picky lotion user and can't stand anything that leaves a sticky residue and this cocoa butter doesn't leave a stickiness and the smell is buttery with a hint of chocolate. I have already re-purchased another bottle so I give it a 5!

Zoya Nail Polish Remover - You would think that nail polish removers are pretty standard and I thought the same until I used this stuff!  This 3-in-1 formula claims to be a polish remover, nail cleaner, and nail prep. I would say it does all three! I think it even conditions my cuticles and doesn't leave them dry and flakey like other removers do. The smell is WAY more pleasant than other removers and has a hint of an earthy lavender that I actually like. The formula is this purple color, which I obviously love, GO STATE! But the thing I think I love the most is the bottle! It has a pump top that allows you to put a cotton pad on, pump a couple times and remove your polish. This has decreased in remover spills and is just way more convenient! It is a little more expensive at around $10, but it is TOTALLY worth it! I have already repurchased and rate this polish remover a 5!

Hope this Empties review was helpful and you guys can avoid or purchase some products that I have tried out. I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July!!

<3 Charisse

Dupe Alert!

We have mentioned before that we are HUGE fans of Wet N' Wild. We love most of their products and think that they easily compare in quality to other high end brands, but their eyeshadows have taken it to another level these past couple years. The limited edition Nude Awakening palette has almost exact dupes to the Urban Decay Naked Palette. We swatched all the colors over Urban Decay's primer potion. Looking at the pictures above, Wet N' Wild has duped all but 4 of the colors in the UD Naked palette. Because this palette is limited edition it can be a little hard to find and is usually a little more expensive than the $4.00 retail but the palette is totally worth it compared to the $50 that the UD Naked Palette is! I would still try to look around your local drugstores but here are a few places that you could pick it up.
Let us know if anyone finds it anywhere else so we can let people know!

Spring/Summer Obsessions!

Schoooool's Out. For. SUMMA! Okay so i'm not in school anymore but i'm feeling the spirit of summer approaching and finding a lot of my current favorites are fresh, bright and fun! Here is what i'm currently obsessing over...

1. Sally Hansen- Airbrush Legs in "Deep"
As Charisse blogged about previously, i've been using this stuff everyday and just recently got the lotion formula. It is SO natural and i've actually been using it on my chest, arms and hands! I know what you're thinking..tan hands? Weird...but! It makes your nail polish look brighter and your rings look more sparkly, try it;)

2. Essie Luxe Effects Nail Polish in "Stroke of Brilliance"
This is such an unexpected bottle of glittery goodness, I love using this for just an accent nail, i've been kind of obsessed with all things blue lately and this color is just so stunning. All of the luxe effects colors from Essie are GORG!

3. ShopLately- DesignHype's NYC Metro Cuff
Recently i've been loving all my jewelry to be silver and I've been wearing this cuff tons, it reminds me of my favorite city, NYC! It's bold but easy to style because it's monochromatic. Cuffs are super trendy so i've definitley jumped on that bandwagon.

4. Forever21- Mint Rose Ring
I don't have a direct link for this one because i've had it for quite sometime but you can find these rings virtually anywhere.

5. The Body Shop- Strawberry Body Butter
If i've ever wanted to eat a lotion it would be this. This smells so incredibly delicious!! The formula doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky at all.  I've been mixing it with my Sally Hansen leg makeup and I LOVE the combo.

6. Target- Cotton Candy Candle
If I could think of a summery scent that just makes me really happy, it's cotton candy. It just reminds me of carnivals and boardwalks and summer fun! The candle makes my mouth water...it's smells exactly like cotton candy, with 80 hrs of burn time, this has already become a summer favorite. Check out your local target for this CUTE packaged candle, it also comes in a reed diffuser if you don't like burning candles in the summer time.

7. Wet 'n' Wild- Megalast Liquid Lip Color in "Click On My Hyperlink"
Now this color is not for the faint of heart but with summer tans approaching this color is SO fun and vibrant.  If you are wanting a bold, super long lasting color I would highly suggest this:) Plus it's dirt cheap, Wet 'n' wild has to be one of my favorite drugstore beauty brands.

8. Maybelline- Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in "60 Brightener Illuminator"
I have been using this product everyday...it adds such a brightness to your eyes and the applicator makes is super easy to apply.  This treatment concealer has Goji Berry + Haloxyl, sounds like a magical elixir to me...highly suggest this!! This product has also earned a Beauty Insider Choice award!

9. Jordana- Best Lash Extreme Mascara in "301 Black"
Another dirt cheap product that just blows my mind...I learned of this product from one of my favorite beauty blogger's Kandee Johnson I personally like thick, voluminous long lashes with a little dryer formula and this product fits my needs to a T.

Hope you guys found this helpful! Leave a comment below if you have current personal favorites or if you have tried any of these products, Charisse and I love and appreciate your feedback!

Product Review: Sally Hansen Airbrush Leg Makeup Spray and Lotion

When it comes time to bust out your shorts and Winter has not allowed your legs to have any sun, it can be a scary thing!  If I had to pick one must have product to have in the Spring and Summer, it would have to be the Sally Hansen Airbrush Leg Makeup spray or lotion.

It not only gives you a deep tan glow (if you choose one darker than your skin tone) but it covers imperfections that all women have.  The word "makeup" may scare people off but this product does not budge once it dries and is also waterproof for a day at the beach or the pool.   I literally have to scrub the crap out of my skin with my loofah in the shower to get it to move, which in my books is a plus!  I don't want my tan, flawless legs to move during the day!  I have never had a huge problem with it transferring on clothes.  It does have a hint of shimmer to it to help with that airbrush/flawless look but that doesn't bother me at all.  The great thing about the Sally Hansen Airbrush Makeup spray/lotion is that you don't have to wait for a tan to develop like you do with a self tanner and you also don't have the nasty smell that comes along with self tanner.  I would never recommend just spraying the spray on your legs. I always mix it with the lotion I'm wearing that day so it goes on a little smoother. Or Sally Hansen now has the formula in a lotion form and it works just as great without needing to mix lotion into it!  Even though this product is marketed towards your legs, I use it all over my body.

I will always re-purchase this product and have it in my beauty cabinet as a staple! I buy it at my local drugstore but I have seen it at Target, Walmart, and even in my grocery store in the beauty section. Let us know if you have tried this product or plan on trying it and tell us what you think!

Leg on the left is with the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs lotion in Deep and right leg is my natural paleness! (FYI no filter was put on this photo)

* Nude & Neon *

I've been following the "nude & neon" fashion trend for quite some time but it appears that for this summer you will be seeing this color combination everywhere! Yay for me:) You certainly could incorporate any shade of neon; pink, green orange, whatever tickles your fancy.  Yellow happens to be my fav! My inspiration photos on the left I just love so much, if I could find a bright yellow blazer to pair with a nude maxi dress and wear my nude bag I'd be ecsatic! However, if that is too bold for your style, you can incorporate this trend in a more subtle way as I have in "real life".  The sandals I got from Target and they actually have a nude strap in the back, my neon clutch from TJ Maxx i've been using so much and its just the perfect size to carry around when I don't want to lug my purse around. I encourage you to try this trend for the summer or spring! It kind of makes me happy...
